Whether in summer or in winter, you can organise your holiday in the Dolomites according to your taste. Around our flats in Siusi you and your family can expect a variety of experiences throughout the year: Hiking, biking and skiing, relaxation in our spa, culinary delights, and… you can find out more here!
When the first snow falls, the time has come for a unique winter holiday in the Dolomites. With the Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi cable car (five minutes walk from mySciliar), you can quickly reach the Alpe di Siusi / Val Gardena ski area. It scores with 175 km of perfectly groomed slopes, Italy’s best snow park and 80 km of cross-country ski runs. You can also enjoy winter and snowshoe hiking, tobogganing, ski tours, ice skating or a horse-drawn sleigh ride. If you want to warm up, you can stop off in one of the traditional huts – or in one of our saunas.
A summer holiday in the Dolomites? This is where the heart of nature and outdoor fans laughs! While hiking, mountaineering, or climbing, you will experience the best of the Alpe di Siusi area on 450 km of well-signposted paths: blooming alpine meadows, shady forests and majestic peaks. Also, on two wheels, whether by mountain bike or e-bike, unforgettable tours on 450 km of MTB trails await you. Would you like some refreshment? We recommend a jump in the picturesque “Völser Weiher”. Speaking of recommendations: as a golfer, you will find your luck on the 18-hole golf course in S. Vigil Siusi. We are passionate golfers ourselves and are happy to give you tips or book a tee-time for You.
During your holiday in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will experience nature and the mountains firsthand. From your balcony or from the panoramic terrace, the Sciliar, the local mountain of Siusi and the symbol of South Tyrol, appears within reach. A highlight, which we recommend you do, is its ascent. The Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi is with 56 square kilometres the largest high alpine pasture in Europe, offers a wonderful view of the Dolomite peaks – and in addition: a good 300 sunny days a year.
Around our flats in Seis / Siusi you will find a variety of culinary delights. Whether simple mountain huts with traditional dishes (such as Speckknödel, Schlutzkrapfen, dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn and apple strudel) or noble restaurants with upscale gastronomy, a holiday in the Dolomites is always a pleasure trip. You should not miss a “Törggele-evening” in autumn, when new wine and roasted chestnuts are served with all kinds of typical delicacies, or the “Kuchlkastl”, which is organized annually in our neighboring municipality of Völs / Fiè and offers many traditional dishes. Thanks to the independence in our flats you can enjoy all this without any time pressure.
Even off the slopes or hiking trails, you will certainly not be bored during your holiday in the Dolomites. The Schlern/Sciliar region scores with numerous cultural events and a living local tradition. The wild ”Krampus” runs in December go back to a pagan culture and form a charming contrast to the atmospheric Christmas markets. The Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride in June and the legendary Kastelruther Spatzenfest are also a special experience.
Tradition comes first in South Tyrol. You can admire peasant costumes and music bands at Easter, and Thanksgiving or at the many exuberant meadow festivals. Also, worth a visit: the ruins of Hauenstein Castle, the Farmers’ Museum in St. Oswald, Prösels Castle, the School Museum in Tagusens/Tagusa … Want more? Contact us – we will gladly help you!
